Tablescape Thursday-Summer Picnic

For this week's tablescape I decided to skip spring inspirations and go directly to summer.  So I started with a blue and white checked tablecloth that reminds me of a picnic.
Next I thought wicker is also very summery so I used my wicker chargers.
Next layer is a fun square bandana print plate that is melamine.

On top of that are white with blue edges enamelware bowls that I bought in Boston at the  April Cornell store when the store was closing. I made my husband haul them home for me.
I couldn't decide on the napkins to go with this setting so I will let you choose from the following three.  (1)  I love these fun bicycle print dishtowels from Mary Lake Thompson

but I also love (2) blue and white striped ticking ones.
In the end I used these (3)  blue with white polka dot paper napkins.
For the centerpiece I started with a wicker tray, then an old little piece that looks like a small picnic table.  Next I added a topiary for greenery with it's summer leaves, then some small vintage chairs and a few birds.
There is even a straw hat in case the sun is too hot!  Perfect for a summer picnic.  To see more tables and be inspired go to Between Naps on the Porch or click here.

Have a wonderful day and I hope spring, then summer come your way soon!

Very creative and pretty!♥

(I have a favor. My dear friend (Next door)is in the final stages of losing her sweetheart (age 61) with a brain tumor. He was diagnosed at Christmas time. After a visit there yesterday I was alarmed at her weightloss and her over all tiredness. (she is 55)
I am befuddled as what I can do to help her through this difficult process, besides helping with meals. What did your friends do for you that helped or meant the most to you during your difficult time of the illness with your husband? I truly love her like my sister and I hurt so much for her.)
Bless your heart...I have thought about you these past couple months and I think you are amazing with all you do! ~♥

I love your blue and white tablescape! One of my favorite color combinations for a table. The bicycle napkins/towels are so unique and fun! Summer has definitely arrived on your table. The centerpiece vignette is so pretty! I love the entire table!

Thank You sweet lady for all you words of wisdom. It gave me some great ideas I hadn't thought of.
The centerpiece is charming as in the bicycle napkin and the fun birds.
I too am looking forward to the beauty and smells of spring and hopw we get it this year without skipping right into summer. Which happens too often here!

PS You and Jen look so BEAUTFUL in your pictures from Studio Five.
I can see she truly takes after her mom and it was fun to witness her fun and personality. Heavens, I was even so proud of her!:-)
